Activities

The aim of Cylch Meithrin y Parc is to promote learning through play in a warm and supportive environment. Special emphasis is placed on language development and the personal, social and emotional development of each child.

Broadly speaking, both sessions are divided into two parts:

  1. A period of structured activity followed by a refreshment break,
  2. Supervised free play until the end of the session

Structured activities include painting, blocks, colouring, videos, jigsas, dancing, clay, music, sand, story-time, water and imaginative play. The leader works to detailed half-termly plans, which ensure the children’s activities cover the Senedd’s designated six areas for pre-school children:

  • Creative development
  • Physical development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Mathematical development
  • Social development
  • Language, literacy and communication skills

Every effort is made to ensure each individual child is helped to reach her or his potential. Parents/guardians are free to discuss these plans at any time with the leader.
